And then it was Christmas...

Okay. So I've been a bad blogger. I envy the discipline of the daily bloggers, I really do.

Needless to say November was busy. Things happened that I debated blogging about, and started a few times. Too late for excuses now, no matter how good or bad they are. Thanksgiving has come and gone, and as LOVELY as Autumn was...Christmas is now upon us!

I have many things to share, but since we're on the subject of Christmas, I'll start there!

A few shots of the tree I decorated today. :) I've been spending more hours than usual reading on the couch with the Biddlekat curled up on my feet. There's something about Christmas trees that draws me in and makes me cozy. Maybe it's the dull, golden glow from the lights, or the subtle sparkles from the ornaments, or (in the case of a real tree) the wonderful smell of pine.

I spent a good part of my day today being lazy after a busy morning of cleaning and tidying. After the laundry was done, the floor vacuumed, the kitchen cleaned, and the tree decorated, I felt more than satisfied retreating to the sofa to read my book.

With this fellow of course. :)

For dinner I made a delicious tortilla soup and cornbread. Dessert = Chocolate Crinkle Cookies. Very delicious (and relatively easy). I'm becoming quite the kitchen fiend, much to my surprise...

Today was great, and I feel more relaxed than I have for some time. Quite a lovely weekend indeed.

I also had a very wonderful visit with a good friend of mine. We laughed, talked, and saw Twilight...which despite everything, was really the cherry on top of the weekend. :D

As I've been in the Christmas spirit, I've also been getting ready for the holiday. Stocking up on presents and...Christmas cards!

So, as you can see...I went with these! They haven't gone out yet, but chances are if you read this blog you'll be getting one soon. :) You know who you are. (aka all three of you, haha.)

I've made several Christmas purchases on Etsy.com, my new holiday companion. However, since there is a high chance that the people I'm buying for will read this, I did make a purchace for a certain feline roommate of mine.

Behold the "Cuddly Cat Snuggle Bed!" Since my little cat friend likes small, round, and hidden places to sleep, I figured this would be a surefire hit with him! Here's hoping. I'll have it wrapped under the tree for Christmas, ready for his little paws to tear the paper off!

I'll move on from the holiday now, and do a quick photo update of a few small things that happened in the month of November.

I pained my nails this color. It has since faded off...but I shall repaint (time permitting).

I recieved my orangebeautiful desktop calendar. Can't wait to actually open it up and use it throughout the year. I feel so artsy cool!

Kyle and I also took a short weekend trip down to Shell Beach, CA to visit his family. As you can see, we had fun frolicking on the beach...

Engaging in marine biology...

And admiring the view.

Other than that, it's been a lot of work, a lot of catching up, and a lot of much needed time at home with my family.

Few artsy and Etsy updates for you.

First up is this metal wreath from Polli.

I'd have to buy it through Australia and it's quite a bit more than I'd like to spend on a wreath...but it is very beautiful.

I've wracked up at least 20 Etsy finds since November 2nd...but they've all either been sold, expired, or they just don't look as cool to me anymore. So far, the only one I've kept to share is this one.

Beautiful Sweatshirt Dress that can be customized in many different colors. I happen to like the one it's in already. It's a fun mix of American Apparel and Anthropologie. I love the shape of the sleeves...

Well my friends, that's all I have today. I won't make any promises as to when I'll be back again. I'd like to say next weekend, but the Christmas season is bound to pick up by then. I hope all of you enjoy the cold, the holiday spirit, and warm cozy dinners with your loved ones. :) Happy winter and Happy Holidays!

With love,

Marina
